NRA Outdoors Announces 2016 Long Range Schools

Building upon the success of its 2015 program, NRA Outdoors has announced that it will be offering further Long Range Schools in 2016. Joined by partners like WeatherbyHuskemaw, Swarovski, Hornady Ammunition and Caldwell Shooting Supplies, the long range program offers NRA members the opportunity to learn how to manage distance shooting from some of the best the industry has to offer.

Held at Queen Mountain Ranch and hosted by SUB-MOA Institute, Long Range Hunting I provides each student with an opportunity to learn the ins and outs of taking ethical shots at extreme distances. The course covers the following topics:

• Ammunition Selection
• Ballistics
• Effects of Weather
• Reading the Wind
• Shot Placement
• Field Skills
• MOA (Minutes of Angle)
• Firearm Maintenance
• Range Safety
• Range Estimation
• Firearms Zeroing
• Shooter, Observer Dialog
• Alternate Shooting Positions
• Trigger Control
• More

“We’re excited to bring this class back to the same location for 2016 and to give more NRA members the chance to learn from some of the best.," said Greg Ray, NRA Outdoors' National Manager. "2016 will be a very exciting year as we bring more Level I students to our Level II class and plans to open even more dates, giving more potential students the opportunity to participate."
