Federal American Eagle has joined the .17-caliber revolution, and will now offer its own version of .17 Win. Super Mag. Winchester and Hornady have previously offered the cartridge.

The American Eagle 17 Win. Super Magnum is designed to deliver velocities of 3,000 fps with a 20-grain bullet. That velocity, coupled with the tipped bullet design, offers flat trajectories and downrange energy that's ideal for long-range varmints. Shipments of the new load are being delivered to distributors now. Boxes of the cartridge will carry a $19.95 MSRP.

The move is a natural one for Federal, as fellow Vista Outdoor brand Savage Arms produces the B.MAG, which was built around the .17 WSM cartridge.

Features:

• 3,000 fps muzzle velocity
• Flat trajectory
• High-energy rimfire load
• 20-grain tipped varmint bullet for explosive expansion
