Floating Your Pin Aids Accuracy

undefinedWe’re never too good to revisit the basics when it comes to bowshooting technique. I was reminded of this just last night as I watched an archery coach working with a boy who was having a tough time keeping his sight pin on the bullseye as he squeezed the release. We’ve all been there, I thought, especially after we’ve already flung more than a few arrows and we’re getting tired.

I learned long ago that sometimes the harder you try to keep the pin on the center of they bullseye, the more it moves. So let it move. Instead of struggling to keep it still, let it float around it as you squeeze. You may be pleasantly surprised at how your groups actually improve.
