The countdown to Christmas has begun, and the frenzy of the holiday shopping season is upon us. In need of a gift for the special huntress in your life? Not to worry, we've done the hard part for you. Here’s a handful of gift ideas that she'll appreciate for years to come.

ALPS OutdoorZ Monarch X Women’s Pack
Designed to fit a woman’s frame with contoured shoulder straps, a smaller waist belt and a shorter torso length, the new Monarch X meat-hauling daypack from ALPS OutdoorZ is perfect for the Western backcountry huntress. It features a built-in stow-away meat shelf, dual aluminum stays to help distribute weight evenly and comfortably, Lycra shoulder straps with built in load lifters, and a molded foam waist belt, which includes quick-access pockets on either side, anti-sway straps and accommodates clip-style holsters. The pack has four compartments; two fleece-lined side wing pockets, a front organizational pocket and a main pocket. The drop-down rifle/bow pocket allows for hands-free carry, and multiple compression straps—including lower bedding straps and extension lashing straps—are also included. The Monarch X weighs 5.25 pounds and is available in Coyote Brown. MSRP: $199.99; alpsoutdoorz.com.

Over Under Women’s Waxed Briar Jacket
You can’t go wrong purchasing a high-quality waxed jacket for women who enjoy upland hunting. Over two years of research and development went into crafting the Women’s Waxed Briar Jacket from Over Under, and the result is a comfortable (yet fashionable) timeless piece. It features a custom plaid tartan lining, side snaps for an adjustable rear taper, tartan-lined handwarmer pockets, two rear zippered riding vents, an interior zipper phone pocket, custom Over Under antique brass buttons and a removeable blaze orange safety strip located under the collar. The Waxed Briar Jacket also comes with a 2-ounce tin of Over Under Wax Treatment to ensure it stays looking as great as it did the first time she wore it, and is covered by Over Under’s 101 Year Lifetime Guarantee. Available in Field Tan (pictured), Olive and Navy. MSRP: $349; overunderclothing.com.

Prois Olann Merino Base Layers
Staying warm while hunting is critical—whether male or female—and one can never have too many base layers. The Olann Merino line from Prois is constructed of 96 percent merino wool and a 4 percent Lycra blend, resulting in a comfortable fit that allows for full range of motion while keeping her warm in cold weather and cool in warmer temperatures. The ½ Zip has a long torso cut for an athletic fit and thumbholes in the sleeves. I’m a huge fan of thumbholes, especially in base layers; they allow me to put on my next few layers without having to reach halfway up the sleeve to shimmy them back down to my wrist. The Bottom keeps legs warm without added bulk and its wide elastic waistband is comfortable and stays in place. The racerback Olann Bra provides the support necessary for all-day active hunts. The merino fabric used in the entire Olann line wicks away moisture and is naturally anti-microbial, which minimizes odor. I wore the Olann base layers on a recent whitetail hunt in Illinois and can attest to their effectiveness, and of equal importance, they aren’t itchy! They’re available in the new women-exclusive Cumbre pattern developed by Veil Camo and Prois. MSRP: ½ Zip $159.99, Bottoms $99.99, Bra $79.99; proishunting.com.

Robust nylon handle straps make carrying easy and include daisy chain loops to clip keys, lights or other essential items on with a carabiner. MSRP: $169.99; cordovaoutdoors.com.

onX Hunt Membership
With features such as public and private land boundaries with landowner names, various waypoint capabilities, hunting districts and management unit divisions, topo maps and aerial photos all in one app, it’s never been easier to scout for a new spot. The app functions with no cellular service and can be used on other electronic devices. An onX Hunt GPS Chip can also be purchased to integrate the software with a GPS unit. Additionally, onX Hunt just came out with a “Wind & Weather” feature, which shows users current weather, wind direction, barometric pressure, sunrise/sunset times and has offline data caching. MSRP: $29.99 per year for one state, or $99.99 per year for all 50 states; onxmaps.com.

Last year, Weatherby introduced its first female-specific hunting rifle—the Vanguard Camilla. For 2018, the company has expanded their options for female hunters with the Mark V Camilla.
