The Great American Outdoor Show has added many exciting new features, from an NRA Country concert, to a new shooting sports hall, to NRA-centric programs and events. But longtime Harrisburg show attendees will be glad to know that traditional events like the 3D Bowhunter Challenge are back again this year, and there’s still time to take part in this longstanding event.

The challenge runs daily and is broken into different classes based on age and ability, and the daily high scorers in each class will compete in the finals, which are slated to be held on Saturday and Sunday. There’s still time to compete in the event, as interested participants can register on site daily in the Archery Range Hall. The 30-shot course takes approximately an hour and a half to complete, and archery equipment may be checked on site, allowing competitors to safely store their bows while also enjoying everything that the Great American Outdoor Show has to offer.

The finals for the bowhunter classes are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Saturday, with the finals for competition archers slated for 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sunday. All final rounds are open to the public. The event is run by members of the PA 3D Bowhunters, and the targets used in the event have been generously provided by Rinehart Targets.
