The unstoppable, independent country music artist recently released his new album, “Vaquero,” featuring the hit “Outta Style.” It is the follow-up to Watson’s history-making album, “The Underdog,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart, making him the first-ever independent solo male country artist to debut in the top spot.

NRA Country’s Vanessa Shahidi recently caught up with Aaron to talk about his love of hunting and the outdoors.

VS: If you have a favorite personal firearm, what is it?

AW: “My favorite handgun would have to be my STI Model 2011 Eagle. It’s enjoyable to shoot, holds a lot of rounds, and it’s basically a 1911 with a double stack grip. My favorite rifle would have to be my old Winchester lever-action .30-30; hard to beat the excitement of hunting with iron sights.”

VS: Favorite hunt or outdoor memory of the past year?

AW: “I have so many it’s hard to name one. I love spending time outdoors with my kids Jake, Jack and Jolee Kate. My most recent memory would involve Jake. We had an old 8-point buck walk out in front of us one evening and Jake was able to put a great shot on him. That old buck was a great harvest.”

VS: If you had a day off to spend outdoors, what would you do?

AW: “For me, the outdoors isn’t so much about the activity, but whom I’m spending the day with. So whether I’m hiking, hunting, camping or fishing, I’m happy so long as I’m with my wife and kids.”

NRA Country is a lifestyle and a bond between the country music community and hard-working Americans everywhere. It’s powered by pride, freedom, love of country, respect for the military and the responsibilities of protecting the great American life.  For more information click here, follow on twitter @NRACountry and NRA_Country on Instagram.
