AG Composites, a veteran-owned manufacturer that uses modern design software to create Computer Aided Design (CAD) models and composite rifle stocks, has been selected to provide the stocks for the Remington Model 700 Alpha 1 bolt-action rifle.

When America’s oldest arms maker reinvented itself under new ownership after bankruptcy, it was split off from many of its subsidiaries, including ammunition, accessories, and other firearm brands. Today Remington’s sole focus, according to CEO Ken D’Arcy, is the manufacture of top-shelf production-grade hunting rifles. “I’m a hunter, and Remington is returning to its roots and developing firearms for hunters,” D’Arcy said. “I looked at the market and saw what a hunter wants and needs, and that is what we are going to make. Serious hunters and shooters know that one of the foundations of an accurate hunting rifle is the stock. That’s why we chose AG Composites to be our stock-making partner.” The initial Model 700 A1 stock will come with the AG Composite charcoal-gray-finish custom stock.

“We are honored that Remington has chosen AG Composites to produce the stocks for Remington’s exciting new line of hunting rifles,” said AG Composites owner Matt Tandy. “Our company uses modern design software from Solidworks and AutoDesk to create Computer Aided Design (CAD) models of every stock we manufacture. Our design engineers bring their aerospace industry CAD modeling experience to every stock we design. In addition, we use only the highest-quality carbon fiber, epoxy, and paint products to manufacture our premium line of composite rifle stocks. And, our proprietary manufacturing process is the ‘secret sauce’ behind our ability to produce best-in-class stocks with delivery times that are a fraction of our competitors. Our goal is to give all our customers, from individuals looking for a custom stock for a personal rifle to a new Remington Alpha 1, outstanding value and superior performance.”
