Browning's A-Bolt delivered dependable, pinpoint accuracy out of the box in a variety of chamberings. The line is known as one of the most revered in the company's history, and deservingly so. One turnoff for some hunters, however, is the A-Bolt's price.

That's going to change in 2013, thanks to the announcement of the company's new A-Bolt III. Described an entry-level A-Bolt Rifle, the A-Bolt III captures the spirit of the A-Bolt, but tweaks enough features to make it more wallet-friendly.

It doesn't come with the A-Bolt's M.O.A. adjustable trigger, instead opting for factory preset trigger. Browning has also modified the bolt and the bolt housing to suit the gun's lower price range. The A-Bolt III is expected to ship with an MSRP of $599—placing it $200 to $300 below the most affordable standard A-Bolt.
