QAD Ultrarest Integrate MX2

Drop-away rest kingpin, Quality Archery Designs (QAD) developed IMS technology, forever changing how rests mount to a bow. With IMS, Berger hole mounting is out, and direct inline rest attachment to the back of bow risers is in.

By adding a pair of slits to the back of a bow's riser, QAD was able to develop a two-part clamp mounting system, which eliminated the need for a rest mounting bar, attachment screw and washer. The technology allowed QAD to make their rests lighter, and the two-part locking system streamlines the accessory mounting process, maximizes tunability and vastly shrinks the chance of the rest inadvertently moving up or down on the bow.

MX2 at full draw

Recently, QAD launched its newest Integrate model, the Integrate MX2. Showcasing all the same features that made the original MX a winner, the MX2 ushers in an appreciated element of stealth and shooter customization.

The frustrating, hard-to-deal-with felt lining for the launcher arms is gone. QAD replaced the felt with rubber arm dampeners that slide easily into pre-cut slots in the rest arm. QAD also includes a Berger button-hole rubber insert. The new rubberized system better thwarts noise and doesn't need to be replaced unless the hunter wants to change colors, of which QAD offers many.

After testing this rest nationwide for over a year, I can testify to its easy-to-tune, ultra-durable nature. The Rubber Dampers are remarkably more durable than felt, and the improved capture containment bar, which QAD notes is 20-percent stronger than the original, adds to the overall durability equation.

Smart Rest Technology is a massive benefit. After using the thumb wheel to raise the launcher arm to 80 degrees, you can draw your bow and know without question that Smart Rest Technology brings the launcher arm to 90 degrees (the most repeatable shot angle to shoot from). Should you need to let down your bow, the arm remains vertical. The arrow stays contained via the design of the launcher arm and capture bar.

Windage and elevation are micro-adjustable in .0019-inch increments, and the windage and elevation knobs are laser engraved to avoid confusion.

The Integrate MX2 ($269.99) is a cable-driven rest; QAD does not offer a limb-driven model. I love the tight braid timing cord. QAD does offer a down cable attachment, but I prefer to press my bow, insert the timing cord into the down cable, and serve the timing cord in. The full draw indicator marks make timing a breeze. At full draw, the indicator marks should intersect when the launcher rotates to 90 degrees.
