In April, the Michigan Natural Resources Commission approved measures to expand coyote hunting in the state as well as extensions on the taking of other furbearers.
Effective immediately, coyotes and opossums may now be hunted year-round, and lawful nighttime hunting methods now include the use of No. 3 and No. 4 buckshot for those animals as well as raccoons and foxes. Nighttime hunting season dates for coyote, raccoon, fox and opossum will now run concurrently with their daytime season dates.
