undefinedQ: Now that I’m 49, my body can’t take the abuse that it once could. Is there a company that makes reduced-recoil loads that I can shoot without having to gulp aspirin afterward?

A: You're in luck: Several companies make reduced-recoil loads. Check out Federal Fusion Lite, Hornady Custom Lite and Remington Managed-Recoil ammunition. If you're looking to practice with big-bore, dangerous-game cartridges and avoid getting unmercifully thumped, try the low-recoil and intermediate-recoil loads from Nyati Inc. They are available in many different calibers from 9.3x74R to .700 NE. Field Editor Bryce M. Towsley just tested the company's .375 H&H and .458 Win. Mag. offerings (pictured above) in the May 2014 print edition of American Hunter and was impressed.

Three Whitetail Traps to Set for Close Shots

Your whitetail hunting location may be as expansive as a national forest or as small as an uncle’s 40-acre woodlot.
