Throom Targets has added the NRA-sized Silhouette Duck Target to its line of HangTuff targets.

Throom Targets were the first Self-Healing, Ricochet-Free Polymer Reactive targets introduced to the industry, originally known as Newbold Targets in October 1995. They are made entirely in the USA with equipment that is designed and manufactured in the USA with all materials sourced domestically. The family owned and operated business is headquartered in Middlesex, New Jersey and is responsible for the sales, marketing and manufacturing of all Throom Target products in the United States and international markets. The family’s main focus is to design and manufacture self-healing reactive polymer targets that are safer than steel and provide customers with peace of mind when engaging in activities ranging from tactical training and shooting competitions to weekend plinking. The business has succeeded in maintaining manufacturing jobs in the United States for over 25 years.

Made of proprietary Shoot-Throo polymer, bullets pass right through leaving only a pinhole where the projectile struck. Throom Targets react to each shot, providing the shooter with visual feedback as to whether they hit the target. Shoot-Throo technology allows Throom targets to be used indoors; unlike steel targets which will splatter the bullet resulting in pieces coming back toward the shooter or scattering to hit range assets.

Throom Targets can take over 1,000 rounds and still maintain integrity—even if the round is as large as .45 caliber—as long as there isn’t a hollow point projectile in the casing. Compare this with a non-reactive paper target where after a few rounds, it becomes difficult to pick out which holes are the new ones. After only a few dozen shots, paper targets get an large area completely shot out and no longer shows bullet hits.

Throom’s convenient Alpha Stand brackets make it easy to assemble a shooting rack onto which the targets can be mounted. These end brackets are made of the same polymer material as Throom targets and are designed to fit standard 2x4 lumber. The system provides the shooter with a complete ricochet-free shooting platform that holds together even if the bracket is hit as much as 500 times.

Totally weatherproof, Throom® targets are impervious to rain and can tolerate extreme temperatures from -400F to 1200F without issue. Throom targets won’t discolor or fade over time and are seven times lighter than comparable steel targets, making set up and transporting Throom targets considerably easier and more convenient.

Throom targets can handle virtually any rifle or handgun ammunition which will result in a visual confirmation of a hit, although some small diameter high speed projectiles and some lighter weight, slower speed projectiles may pass through without visual feedback.
